| Can anyone help identify this all-metal MP40? No markings whatsoever! Is it a Marushin? It's for sale locally and might buy it if it is! Kiwigunner | |

| Interesting - JohnnyV is chasing after a metal MP40 without markings, you do, and I've seen one locally at an auction recently. I was convinced it was a Marushin one, but there was no markings either. I hope this gets figured out | |

| Its TRC Tokyo Replica company copied from the Nakata model except TRC used a zinc trunnion instead of Nakatas nylon one and the Nakata barrel extends through the trunnion and TRC one is cut short same as the Marushin.

| Hi Kiwigunner!
Note that it seems to have its own Magazine design? deeper from front to rear, not compatable with Marushin/real mags without heavy modification. | |

| Wow! Thanks guys! ' ' Isn't this Forum just a fantastic source of information - again I appreciate fact that everyone supports the sharing of their knowledge & experience! So is this a RARE MP40 and worth buying? And what $$ should I think to offer for it? The owner is asking NZ$720.......' ' Cheers, Kiwigunner | |

| Duh, how come I did not realize Marushin and Nakata lead to TRC? That explains similarities and differences between the models, as design changed slightly when model migrated from company to company. MP40 offered locally was sold for about 920 NZD. This seems to be a fairly rare model, but supposedly less realistic than plastic Marushin or metal MGC. I decided to look for another model, as I already have MP40 in my collection. If I didn't have any, I would get that one. | |

| Also worth a note that because of recoil spring guide length bolt does not go all the way back and lock in the rear latch, not on mine anyway... can someone confirm if it should?
Cheers

| ?????? Thats the mystery of model guns Option 1 ) I wonder if rear of my bolt is filled with some resin for extra weight?? will check in morning, seen that before:( Option 2 ) I wonder if we have different bolt types, will the owner take a pic of the back of his bolt?? I know this is asking a lot ! Option 3 ) your guess is as good as mine | |

| Solved the bolt return issue! Mine has the bolt handle going right through and screw retained from opposite side, hidden behind some resin looks like a bodge of some kind, my guess is that on a mint bolt the handle is only on the outside, part of bolt casting and at some stage this has broke off and another type has been grafted in there I guess this leaves 3 options 1 cut down the recoil spring guide a bit, 2 get new cast bolt (unlikely !!) 3 Use a marushin plastic bolt, they do fit:) This model get more compilcated all the time, still not unusuak for modelguns | |

| Hi Johnny - good sleuthing! Here's pics of the Bolt face detail, trunnion barrel end, and the bolt locked in position: It appears that the bolt handle can be totally removed from the bolt! (looks like the extractor needs a repair??) This one looks like it is a non-firing version??? It would be good to compare with some photos of your MP40. Kiwigunner | |
