Removing the gold finish from Marushin Baby Nambu.

Is there anyone here who can do this professionally? I was quoted what I thought was a rather large price by a chap at Blackdog who, to be fair , does do amazing work. Any takers here?

Well I think I can give you some advices because I removed gold finish on between 5 and 10 model guns....
First, you need to disassemble your gun, not always easy ;-)

Hi lampwick, the gold plate can be polished off using metal polish like Solvol Autosol and a rag relatively easily. User a toothbrush for small awkward places. This will take you down to the polished nickel which'll be a mirror chrome look.
I polished my Automag using the above method and am perfectly happy with the result.

Momocampo and other members here have done some impressive polishing work described in detail on the forum. Take particular note of the dangers of removing the nickel though
