| Post by kickback Hi Richard, Original mags will fit but you need to make the mag catch hole bigger for it to lock into place, but the rounds do not feed very well from a "real"mag but it does look good!.The mags will not fit the mgc m16 series.

So not realy worth trashing my original sealed mag?
Oh well, will have to do with the 20rd mag-just thought a 30rd looked better on an XM177 than a 20 rd one

| Another possibility is to use SA80 30rd mags. The catch hole will need a bit of fiddling and filing to match up but once in place they look great. I've put an SA80 mag in my own XM177.
I've yet to try this but half the feed problems using real mags is the round carrier being a different shape to the model one. (Because the models dont have bullet heads) Could you not put a model carrier from the Marushin 20rd mag into an SA80 mag, shorten the spring a little to weaken it a bit and maybe re-shape the feed lips if needs be? For pure display the SA80 mags look great in M16/XM177's but a little tweaking could get them feeding properly too.

| Post by Madmike I guess the feed lips are the problem with the SA80 mags. I used one myself, but the bolt failed to take the cart out of the mag. I use mine for display only, it is great for that purpose no question | |

| Post by richard jones Just taken these pics to show how different the original and Marushin mag feed lips are. Also the real mag is a lot lighter in weight than the Marushin one | |

| Here you go Richard, if you haven't seen it already! http://mp40modelguns.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=917 There is a lot of discussion throughout the forum on M16 type magazines, it's well worth a scroll through.
