just won this in an auction, mgc 1911 acepoint target system, not sure if the receiver works, anyone familiar with this system?

Pg 39 of the RMI collectors armoury catalog from 1987 shows it & has a description; its hard to see, I'll try & rescan it when I get time or type out the descrp for you:
