| Nice work. One question, is there any difference in color, finish or whatever between perma blue and regular blue (for steel) from Birchwood? I am always curious about it.

S I have not tried using their regular blue, maybe i will try that on my second thompson. I assume theyre the same product with different names. The problem that i had with the perma blue is unlike many people, who had diffficulty with the bluing compound to apply and stick, mine stuck and reacted, bt produced a gold color similar to the original gold zinc finish. I then tried heating up the reciever over a stove burner, and then liberally applying the blue. Only then did i achieve a blued look, although it is un even and varies in a range of colors. I still prefer it to the awful gold finish, and to the black factory finish on new guns. | |
