Here are a couple quick videos of the new CAW M1A1 in action. I was firing it a bit and decided some of you might like to see it firing.
I used 20-rd mag loads - mainly because I was already 20 rounds in and that is about my limit for cart cleaning patience!!!
One video is of the CAW brass, and in the other video I am using the CTec aluminum rounds. Both feed flawlessly for me. The aluminum seems to cycle a bit faster and eject a bit further.
Enjoy!

It sounds really nice doesn't it? Especially when firing the C-Tec Ali' carts.

It certainly does :-) Aluminium cartridges seem to allow faster rate, closer to the real Thompson (at least by ear).

You beat me to it, just had mine back with new steel bolt and took some vid yesterday but yours looks a lot better than mine so loath to post mine now. Yours looks really good mate the firing rate seems higher than mine but that might be down to the rounds as i only had mulberry field and they dont seem to have the best blowback. i do have 5 rounds of the CAW thompson and they work fine hard to tell the rate of fire with only 5 though. When the CAW first came out it seemed there was a lot of talk of the rounds for it being not so good and although i only have 5 at the moment they seem fine to me I always thought the mgc thompson was the best firer but this CAW is extremely good even out of the box, even the zinc bolt is pretty good damn good but i knew it would die the death in the end so steel it had to be. This CAW is a big step up from the Hudson well worth the money, i will have to get some more c-tc as they look bloody great out of yours, great vid, think i should bin mine now.

Hi,
I went to your CAW M1A1 Thompson video site again last night just wanting to review the flawless smooth discharge of your model gun. During one of your videos, information I didn't request (something from you tube) began running concurrently. Unable to remove the you tube information, I unplugged the computer for the rest of the night hoping that the "junk" would disappear. I hope I didn't ruin your informative CAW M1A1 videos.
I still have no idea how I went from the CAW M1A1 test firings to the unsolicited "junk". If I have inadvertently ruined your videos, I apologize! If there's any you tube "junk" lurking about, I'll refrain from going onto the MP40 model gun forum in the future.
Please let me know if this problem has somehow corrected itself.
Thank you.

After receiving a mild rebuke from one of the forum moderators a few weeks ago for straying from the stated guidelines for topical discussions-I've attempted to be very mindful of my tendency to "stray" thus confining my input to only those things relating to pfc model guns.
Jerr2 has been kind enough to share some pretty amazing results he has obtained thru his experimenting with the use of various cartridges and the tweaking of his model guns.
While watching the second (of three) CAWM1A1 videos provided by Jerr2, a page of information from a you tube website appeared and kept running until I cut off all power to the computer.
When I powered things up this afternoon, I noted that you had taken the time to leave a notification and that last nights video intrusion was still playing. When the you tube piece concluded, Jerr2's CAWM1A1 video resumed until its conclusion!
We recently subscribed to a legitimate computer "cleaning" service but; I haven't had anything like last nights you tube intrusion occur either in the past or present-until last night.
If, I screwed up Mr. Jerr2's video tutorial, would you be kind enough to let him know it was completely unintentional. If other forum members are having difficulties as a result of whatever took place last night, then please let me know and I'll terminate my status as a forum member.
Thank you, and again my apologies for messing things up. Chris

No worries! You should not be able to mess up a youtube post or anyone else's post here, even if you tried!

Time to add my CAW Thompson firing, again this is with the mulberry field rounds which have occasional hiccups as you can see, nothing to do with the gun all down to the rounds not performing right. This also has a new steel bolt which works great.

It's such a pity those Mulberry Field cartridges don't work very well. They look like they fire but don't blowback. What type and size 0-rings are you using in them Clay'?

standard 7mm O ring mate, the think with the mulberry field is i think you need to change the O ring fairly frequently even if they look OK, mulberry field pistons on always fit loose with new O rings that is not a problem but once the O ring hardens up a bit and which would work fine in other rounds just dont seal well enough to get full blowback. Well thats what i think anyway.

You're probably dead right there Clay'
It's possibly worth replacing the rings on all of the carts the minute one stops blowing back. Have you tried using 3mm x 2mm 0-rings? They are a slightly tighter fit in 7mm MGC and Hudson cartridges. You might, with luck, find they'll give a better seal for a longer time.
