Dummy Round C96 -> PFC?

I've been thinking of converting my MGC dummy-cycling C96 to PFC and was wondering if the Marushin M712 carts would work with the right det pin. I wish somebody would just make a new C96. I've actually toyed with doing a project like that myself, but haven't fully investigated the legality of doing so. It would be quite an undertaking, though, which is why I'm looking to just convert the one I have now already. Even if it's gold...
