PostSubject: 3d printed ZGF42 scope.   3d printed ZGF42 scope. Icon_minitimeWed Jul 12, 2017 12:27 pm

Hi all. I've just bought another Shoei 1st pattern FG42 but am now tapped out money wise. Has anyone looked into the possibility of a 3D printing of a ZGF42 scope for display usage? I'd be most interested. My 1st FG42 came complete with scope and sling at the (then) horrifying cost of £880 from Jay at what was then Model Guns(?) and I've had another 6 pass through my hands in the interim as well as 2 MP44's and an MKb42H (which I hated on sight and passed on in 3 days). I'd be obliged if anyone has any thoughts on this that they would share with me. Thanks for looking. Terry

Hi,

If you can get me the designs/dimensions I could have a look at the possibility of replicating one.

Thanks for that. Ive contacted richard frizzell who, i think, has a scope to send you some pics and measurements by pm. I feel it would be too cheeky to ask Tomio for a set of blueprints.

Relatively nice original with leather caps available on K98 forum.
It is a DDX "L" marked Zf4 -
The same as I have on mine - $600

You can buy reproduction two piece mounts from Estes Adams, in the US too.

It is an exceptional price for an "L" marked scope with original covers.
They made about 20,000 L (Luftwaffe) marked scopes - way more than the number ever used, so they are around, but fairly rare.

Not as cheap as 3D printing your own, I suppose, but, I would buy it instantly if I didn't own one already, they are somewhat of an investment.
