Hello, I posted some comparison photos for anyone interested - although it seems there are not many interested.

I think people are interested but i have found that many posts be it video, review or general dont always generate replies. its a pity when you go to the trouble of posting but as long as it keeps the forum ticking over it wont put me off posting.
Nice comparison by the way, definite difference in grip position on the last of the 3.

Pitfighter,

Please accept my apologies for not responding to your FG42 comparison post. I've been so engrossed in ressurecting lost photos on here I had not even seen your post. Now that I have, your photos are great. The amount of work going into building these rifles, real as well as replicas, is stunning.
Please know that I am very grateful for each and every post. As claymore says it keeps the Forum going which is exactly what we need.

Thanks Pit'

Oh I wasn't worried from an ego perspective, the photos are not that great - just thought it was sort of sad as I don't think there is another reference on line of a shoei replica photographed beside an original Krieghoff. We are a very small minority of enthusiasts, lol.

The interesting thing is how realistic the Shoei replicas are, when it is highly likely they did not have an original FG42 in Japan to work from, and only museums to visit out of the country.

However, I do wish they had created the Type E using the curved sheet metal trigger guard instead of the extremely rare and almost never encountered one-piece stamped-steel intermediate type trigger guard.
