"Hana-Bi" or "Fireworks" (depending on your country) a Takeshi Kitano or "Beat" Takashi movie (again depending on your country).
The protagonist builds a model revolver from a boxed Japanese kit, which he then uses to rob a bank. You guys would probably be able to identify the gun. It also looks like they used model guns for all of the props in the movie, too. I gather Japan is a difficult place to own guns, probably goes for renting them for movies, too.
Only worth noting as you see the box, and details.
Terrific movie, too.
JJ.

I am quite sure that many asian movies use modelguns in some manner as real-albeit-blank firing guns are hard if not impossible to acquire for filming purposes.

If you get the AZN channel (Asian channel) on cable in the U.S. you can see many movies that have modelguns in them.

I watched the really cool Japanese movie, VS last month and it had alot of modelguns in it!

Cool, I'll check it out!

Lots of early John Woo films use modelguns I think- I could have sworn the ejecting shells from one of the pistols in 'The Killer' looked like whole 'bullets', similar to a modelgun pistol cartridge.
