I would like to show a few pics of the MGC M4A1 R.I.S. version that was made and offered as the last model of MGC M16A2/M4A1 series in 2006/2007. It came with an alloy metal R.I.S., a foregrip and 2 rail covers made by "Mosquito Molds". The stock and the fore grip look a little shiny, otherwise the model looks very realistic.
The model also came with a brass loading tool replacing the plastic tube, as well as a spacer giving the recoil buffer spring approx. 2 cm more tension. Maybe one of our Japanese members can explain what that was meant for.
The loading tool and the spacer were also available as spare parts.
Back then the model was available for approx 375 USD which was still a good price, and the production run sold fast.

Nice one Markus 👍 looking good. Pity, I just sold an original Knights Armament vertical foregrip, an older model of the new one I've just bought. If I had known I would have sent it over to you 😞

Beautiful model! I sold my MGC M4s and miss them, however the void has been filled by the Tanio Koba version of the M4.
MGCs have always had a reputation of being good firers out of the box. My experience with the black heavyweight M4s like yours was that their performance was not quite as good. Apparently, it was not only my experience as the buffer tube spacer and the brass cartridge "preload" tool were added to the production runs later on to help make up for the firing issues as I recall.
Both "modifications" were introduced to increase the chances of the bolt returning to battery. The brass tool is used to push the piston down inside the cartridge instead of leaving it flush with the cartridge threads as usual.

Thank you guys for your kind comments.
I also experienced that the older MGC M16 series ABS models are firing better.
Sadly I can't find the time to fire my models right now, but I love taking them out of their box from time to time.

I was able to get me original Knight's panels and a fore grip. The parts fit the MosquitoMolds rail fine.
Comparing the parts I have to say MosquitoMolds made a good job. Their parts are just a bit more shiny.
