Paint Advice Needed...

I have need of a good, DURABLE spray paint. It is being used on a prop replica and I need a matte to flat black and a dark, dark grey color. I have used several paints in the past with good visual results, but I know they are not super durable for casual handling. Any suggestions from the gun modifiers and other paint-heads in this group would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind I am in on the U.S., so keep the geography in mind when adding your suggestions.

PS... the gray could be like a Colt M-16 gray in fact!

I don't have any experience of spray painting guns but airsofters seem to use KRYLON spraypaint on their guns.

As I said I don't know if this is durable or what - but its bloody popular for spraying airsoft M16's!

Krylon is okay... but it ain't real durable. That Gun Kote is nice stuff too, but it is only for metal, and I am working on plastic right now... though metal will come later.

I'd be interested too- in a general, all-finishes kinda way. I'm often having to cover up orange barrel paint or plastic on all sorts of prop guns...

I remember seeing a link to a company that had all sorts of nice finishes (steel, aluminum, parkerized look, etc) but it was in the UK and I'd love to find something in the US (or an internationally carried brand).

In Japan, Marushin makes an incredible black spray paint. It is tough and looks awesome... the same stuff they use on their M-16 kits in fact. But shipping it back to the states is a pain and takes forever.
