| Post by Stinger Hello - new to the forums here. I have a new Marushin XM177E2 on it's way. I'm looking to buy some accessories for this baby and therefor have a few questions. One thing I'll get for certain is the Guarder metal flash hider. I found it on this airsoft site: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=GD-FH-M4A109_cat_Flash%20Hiders So far so good - but I also want a silencer for the rifle... Now, the flash hider says "14mm clockwise" but does that mean I can chose ANY of the airsoft silencers thats also 14mm clockwise and just screw them on the barrel (with flash-hider removed)? I ask cause it seems like the flash-hider includes some sort of adaptor (look at the picture) and it seems like the silencers don't. So maybe the falsh-hider can only be atached to the adaptor - meaning that a 14mm silencer without an special adaptor is a no-go. What do you say - I know that a silencer can be fitted (shown here http://www.modelguns.co.uk/hit_man_xm177.htm ) but I just want to make sure that I buy one that will work. I hope to find one from this list, so i can order it together with the flash-hider: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?cat=Silencers Any help will do Thanks | |

Also, I'm asking blindly since I don't have the rifle yet. But there's a ring for a sling under the front sight, but is there also one on the stock? If not, I won't buy a sling. Thanks

| Post by MadMike Yes, the standard XM177E2 plastic stock has a slit and a cast on bracket, so there is really no problem attaching a sling. | |

| Post by Stinger One last question - Just wondering if this silencer would fit. It looks like it has a 14mm QD adaptor that screws into the barrel and the clicks onto the silencer. But wont I need a silencer where the barrel screws into the silencer? http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=GP-ACC-230A_cat_Silencers I really think it looks good - but I just want someone to confirm that it can be used. Thanks | |

| Post by BRMoore QD is exactly that Quick detach QD means it doesnt use a thread, it fits into a groove on a flash hider, meaning that flash hider must have a groove to fit into...
As for getting a QD adapter i guess if you do get something like i'd need to know ir ur adapting ur rifle to use QD silencers or you have a QD mount to adapt silencers to be able to use it if you get me _________________ Owner of an M4 Commando. Tapco real steel stock fitted.

| Post by Stinger Well - I know that the silencers fits onto a QD adaptor. I just want to know, If you look at the picture of the product. Would that adaptor fit on the rifle?
Since I dont own the rifle yet, I don't know if attachments, such as silencers or the flah-hider: 1, is screwed onto a thread sticking OUT of the barrel. Or 2, is screwed INTO the barrel.
The is rather important since it decides if I should get a silencer with a thrad sticking out of the end to go into the rifle. Or if I should look for one that has an inner thread and can be attached the a rifle with a thread at the end.
I know this sounds confusing, and maybe I'm wrong.

| Post by Stinger I just made a very simple picture to explain what I'm asking. The barrel is the black part and silencers are blue. I'm asking where the thread is placed (after the xmm177 flash hider is removed) - if it's sticking out of the barrel or it's inside the barrel. Without knowing that I dont know what silencers would fit. Thanks I really hope this would fit: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=GP-ACC-230A_cat_Silencers | |

| Post by Mark I am not sure if the suppressor that you have linked to will work or not. But, I have been studying their indistinct picture (not very much detail there)and I still cannot tell exactly what is what there. However, I would have to say that since the vast majority of the airsoft M4's out there have male threads on their barrels, that this suppressor will thread onto the barrel of the Marushin XM177 with no problem. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by MadMike Just a short post from me as I am a little busy. I took a picture of my XM177 showing the 14 mm + thread on the end of the barrel and the Guarder steel supressor with its seperate washer. Maybe this helps you to get an impression what it looks like: | |

| Post by Stinger Thanks a lot for your reply Mark and for the great picture Mike. That help a lot. I can now see that I need a silencer like the first one I draw. Thanks again. Here's another, slightly better picture of the silencer. I can't see if the three included parts are just adaptors for different flash-hiders. If so, and the silencer itself has a normal 14mm thread I will get it for sure. | |

| Post by Mark Looking at the "problem" now, it appears to me that the suppressor that you have linked to might not fit if it depends on the length of barrel that extends beyond the front sight tower assy as the XM's barrel is shorter than the M4 in this area. The fact that this suppressor is designed to fit an M4 should not be over looked. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by Stinger Hmmm - just found this at modelguns.co.uk It's the exact silencer fittet to a Xm177 modelgun. That's great news to me. I'll get it for sure. I looks like it's just screwed directly on. So i guess the three things in the picture must be adaptors that isn't needed. | |
