Converting Airsoft to Modelgun?

Anybody tried converting any airsoft guns to modelguns? Just curious, since there's so many more models out there in airsoft, and it seems like a spring model should be mechanically similar to what's needed to set off a cap. Something like one of the spring power revolvers especially... anybody tried just putting the appropriate size modelgun cartridge in one of those spring airsoft revolvers?
What I'd really love to see is a better pump shotgun, like if the Tanaka or Maruzen shell-ejecting airsoft shotguns could be converted to fire the shells with caps... but those are gas powered instead of spring, so the mechanics seem like they might be too different...

Kickback converted a H&K USP compact airsoft into a model gun with great success. there is a guy in Japan (link is somewhere on this forum) who has converted bren tens and many others so it is possible but i think you need access to cheap 2nd hand junk parts and a lot of the modelling gear they have in japan to be really succesful with this.
