Is there any chance that inert rounds will fit in the Marushin Combat Commander (old side fire version), i dont mean chamber the round, just in the magazine purely for display.
Thanks. | |

Well, Inert .45 rounds fit in my MGC 1911- if you can use real steel mags with the gun then inert ammo will fit

Real ammo with explosives taken out of it, so you get ur brass shell with a bullet stuck in it, but nothing inside. (sometimes filled with resin to give a bit more weight)

So, if I get it right, it's a real bullet. But you can fire it ?

You cant fire it. It is like the deactivated version of ammo. Some are pre fired, and re built wheras others are new but as said, with no insides. They are safe for display purposes. Some countries only allow drill rounds, which are pretty much the same, but they have a hole drilled in the side of the case. Again, they are fine for display purposes.

Illuminati,
You might ask Francky for some of the solid brass machined cartridges that Marushin sold for their display ony .45's like the combat Commander..The detonator has to be removed to fit the cartridges into the chambers if they don't have a large enough hollow point to clear the detonator.

Well i only want to display them in the magazine really, maybe the magazine along side the gun with a few rounds in and then a couple stood up next to that with the gun in a stand. But it is a possibility, they tend to be rather expensive though.

Hi Illuminati,
You could always drill the hollow points hole in the inert ammo a little bigger to fit over the detonator!
a guy on ebay.co.uk sells inert ammo! ten .45ACP for around £10 inc P+P i think i have some at my parents home though, i'll have a look and send you a few if you want?
Cheers...Andy | |

Marushin used to sell a small brass cup that replaced your detonator pin and into this the Marushin dummy cartridges would sit in the breech. The Marushin dummy .45 cartridges had a spring inside that connected to the percussion cap in the back, this way you could chamber and fire them without damaging the guns firing pin.
I guess these are no longer available but I can send you photos of mine if anyone wants to see them.

Hi Guys
The back of them reads WIN 45 Auto and they look/ feel just like the ones I used to be able to fire for real (back in the day)
Yes John they look the same although MF must have been making them some time as I`ve had these about 3 or 4 years.
