Have you taken a look at the locking lugs at the rear of your tube and inside the lower receiver , perhaps instead of squared edges they have rounded off ?

also take a look to see the mag housing is still firmly glued to the receiver .

Id perhaps try a harder spring in the take down knob too .

quite an impressive vid to show the effect though .

Hello captain dan, welcome to the forum Very Happy,

It could be worth you looking at http://www.ukairsoftzone.co.uk/forums/ , scroll down their first page till you come to the list of skirmish sites throughout the UK.
I'm sure a search will find you a site relatively near to you.

Cerwyn! Long time no hear! How are you doing? I have been very busy with life and am getting back into the model gun world again. Did you ever find a solution to this problem? Mine just started to do it too. I haven't touched it in over a year, it fired fine then, but now it is falling apart as well.

Welcome back Romagnus Very Happy It's great to hear from you again Exclamation How's Army life treating you Question I'll PM you later so we can catch up Very Happy

As for Marushin's MP40, there are two possible causes for the model coming apart as in Claymore's video.

Firstly, as happened in Claymore's case, the lugs moulded onto the rear of the upper reciever tube and into the retaining ring of the lower receiver had worn. The recievers lock together by twisting both together to lock the lugs, bayonet fixing style.Being plastic, the lugs had worn enough through being taken apart and reassembly so many times stoppng them locking together. The cure is to replace the recievers as a set. Fortunately these parts are available.

Second possibility is that the Take-down pin isn't sitting correctly in the hole drilled into the upper reciever. Pull the bolt back and place in the Safety slot. Look into the reciever tube through the bolt's charging handle slot and you should see the Pin sitting in the hole, it should be flush with the inside of the tube. If it's too low, the in won't hold the reciever securely during firing. It it's too high, the bolt can strike it causing it to lose its hold on the tube.

Careful adjustment should sort the Take-down pin out but make sure the hole drilled in the reciever tube it fits into hasn't worn or cracked.
