Well ABS is a type of plastic, these are nearly all HW models apart from some of the chrome versions etc. If you can get Full Metal its obviously the best as its going to have the feel of a real-steel gun. Full Metal are generally very hard to find (if they've even been made) and very expensive.

Thanks for the link. Well the metal models are always the better option as they are heavier and stronger than the plastic versions so you can fire them without fear of them breaking, the only disadvantage is the barrel is blocked so no smoke can come out. Small price to pay though for stronger model.
ABS is always lighter, very light on some models but can suprisingly be stronger than the HW models.
HW is closer in weight to a real gun and a lot heavier than ABS but it can be very brittle and is prone on some models to break easly in certain areas but overall is a preferable model to have than ABS

I`d actually disagree slightly with Claymore (sorry bud)
Some of the early normal ABS modelguns I have seen take shedloads of use and abuse and are still going strong so if its something you want to fire (a lot) then ABS
HW is ABS with metal powder added to the mix to give more realistic feel/weight, however adding the metal powder does reduce the strength of the plastic (my making them unable to flex) although these do look a heck of a lot better. Moderate firing and handling/ display go HW.
Metal models are nice but not too varied in type, so you will have a limit to about half a dozen semi autos but lots of revolvers. Metal models can also be broken if you are unlucky.
theres my 2p | |

Hi Guys,
Well personally i prefer the metal versions because of the weight and feel, that is more like the real steel versions(its a shame the pistol range only now come gold plated, and its a bugger to remove ) then it would have to be abs in favour over the HW versions because as Doc said they they are much stronger and better for lots of firing!!
But anyway if any of you want to get rid of the brittle HW versions i'll have them hehe
