I know one on-line supplier who has stocks of these makes on his shelves now as he cannot sell them , they were taken of his website very quickly. He had to buy a decent stock of these things to get a discount. Totally worthless now. I have a few blank firers but none of the makes mentioned. But it is just a question of time before all of these will be banned.

Is it a buy back system or are people just going to lose a couple of hundred pounds when handing them in?

From what I read .....no buy back. You have to hand them over to the Police and lose everything you paid for them.

All these models are now removed from all websites in the UK. You serioulsy have to ask what problem is there in the UK that makes the police and government come down so hard seeing as in the rest of europe these are completly legal, as are stun guns and other devices legal for protection, but not in the UK, what a great country.

The only problem with these blank firers that were listed in the UK is the fact they can be converted to fire real ammunition......apparently. I assume some of these pistols have been used in crimes and have turned out to be converted blank firers. Is it a matter of time before all replica's are banned simply because they look like the real thing?

It's ridiculous. You simply can't underestimate the willpower of someone who has the determination to do harm to someone else. Just look at the assassination of Shinzo Abe in Japan a couple of years ago. The killer literally used two metal pipes strapped to a crude wooden stock with electrical tape and a battery to ignite powder to fire lethal projectiles. The point is, it's far easier to create a lethal 'firearm' from scratch than it is to machine the components to convert a replica into a lethal firearm.

Yes ,agree. Look at the simple zip gun, easy to make, just 2 sliding pipes and will fire a shotgun cartidge or whatever you like. I have no interest in converting anything to shoot a live round. I have real pistols (section 58) and would never want to try and find rounds for them. I dont even fire my Airsoft, C02, springers. I collect them as a hobby and to admire.

What’s Sec 58 of the Firearms Act ?!? If you own pistols on the Uk mainland you either have a Sec 5 licence, Sec 1 viable pistols / revolvers, Sec 7(3) guns at an approved range or Sec 7(1) guns on your Fac at home…. Don’t know what a sec 58 is though …

Yes precisely, Obsolete Calibre.....no license needed for these. My bulk purchase of them were handed in to the Armory. They were checked, registered and I was allowed 2 back. I lost 3 as rounds were still available for them. I paid to have a S&W to be de-activated, so really I only lost 2....the Belgium and French ones. Below is one of them that I was able to keep.

Sadly, the reason for the ban of these models is because two of them were linked to murders carried out in the uk. They didn’t state that they were converted to fire live ammo, I would imagine not as it is far easier to build one from scratch than to try and modify any of these. I am guessing that they were basically drilled out and some blanks converted to fire a crude projectile (without going into the details of how easily this can be done). They are also set to ban straight blade ninja swords as well, so anyone who has a nice double or triple sword display on the wall will also become a criminal, with a possible prison sentence of 10 years to scare you into surrendering your property without compensation. Also, remember that in this country we police by consent. Time to start revoking consent and start digging a bigger hole in the backyard.
