All forum members I am afraid I have some very sad news the man responsible for keeping this forum going after the original person gave it up and a good friend died yesterday morning whilst in hospital.
Cerwyn was as some know a quadriplegic and because of that needed 24/7 care, he had over the last few months been in and out of hospital with breathing problems due to Pneumonia and yesterday morning his body gave up.
Cerwyn was 65 years old and considering his condition was full of life and it was always a joy to visit him and have long conversations about everything but especially guns. Cerwyn was a collector of modelguns par excellence, I think he had every model that came out, he wasnt unfortunatly able to fire the guns or load and clean the rounds so when you went to see him it was a day of firing many models and although he couldnt fire them just seeing them work made him smile.
When Cerwyn first took over this forum it wasnt just to keep information on modelguns alive it was more personal than that as he had made good friends through it and didnt want to lose that contact, without him this forum would of collapsed and we all owe him for that.
It is a sad day that he has gone, a man full of life even with his disabilities and he will be sorely missed.

My Condolences without this sight my childhood love for the MGC MP40 would not have been rekindled. Looking forward to the Shoei version. I hope this sight can stay up its a wealth of knowledge on all things PFC.

I am very saddened to hear this news.
Cerwyn was a friend of mine, like many of you are to me. I always enjoyed his comments and visiting with him via private messages. I know I am not alone when I say that he will be greatly missed.

How very very sad, he was a lovely fellow, in the few interactions with him, and he really did bring a passion to the hobby.

I hope wherever he is now, there's a peace and comfort, that maybe eluded him here on Earth, oh and a lot of model guns.

How awful. I'm so sorry to hear this news. From the handful of interactions I had, he was a pleasant and helpful person. I'm glad to have known Cerwyn in my own small way. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends and those who had the pleasure of knowing him better than I. Simply awful.

I cannot find the words to say, this is really sad news to hear.

Omg. I don't come on this forum for a while but Cerwyn helped me to know this world of model gun.
I learnt a lot of things thanks to him.btw, I still have several guns.
I'm really sad to here this news. I just wanted to tell something for him, for his kindness.

It is indeed a very piece of news Claymore, as you said if it wasn’t for Cerwyn then this forum would have disappeared a long time ago, he really has been a bright shiny beacon for model guns in a very major way, although he probably didn’t realise it. Such a shame to loose such a nice guy, I hope someone will be able to carry on where he left off, and I hope his models will find a good new home and not just get thrown away. He will certainly be very missed.

I am so sorry to hear this. He seemed a mainstay of this forum, and was always ready to engage with us positively and helpfully. I was not aware of his disabilities, and I say that in neither a positive or negative way - he was just a nice chap. My best wishes to his family and friends. If it is possible to send flowers, or even to attend his funeral, perhaps you could let me know.

May he rest in peace, and be remembered with love.

I am heartbroken that Cerwyn has passed away, and frankly speaking I still cannot really believe and understand it. I was one of those who have been able to meet him many years ago and I was deeply impressed. He was such a kind and selfless friend, full of good energy, knowledge and humor. Despite his bad handicap he was one of the strongest men I ever met. He had fought death more than once and – against all odds – won. Sadly he has lost his last fight. I deeply admired and loved him. The world, not only the world of modelguns, will not be the same without him.

Dear Claymore, thank you for putting it up here. We all know it was a hard task nobody would like.

I never had the privilege to meet him or interact with him often, but his dedication to our common hobby surely left an enormous impression on many, as manifested by the postings in this thread.

My thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends. He will always be keot in honorable memory by this forum…

Hopefully - although it may sound a bit selfish - someone will carry on his legacy in this forum.

How sad this is. His posts are forever a useful aid. As a newbie , I thank anyone who supported Cerwyn through what must have been a difficult life. What a hero he was.

Yes the forum will continue. As we can't let Cerwyn's hard work (and all of your dedication) go to waste.

Hopefully things will carry on as before, but if things go off line, don't panic, it should only be for a short time.

Oh wow what incredibly sad news to log onto. Cerwyn went out of his way to help me recently and really helped save a game I run. A top chap and he will be missed. Rest in peace fellah

Very sad to hear such news. This site has meant a lot to me, even if I post here very rarely. It allowed me to learn a lot more on world and history of modelguns and to start collecting them again after a 25 years hiatus, thanks to the terrific work of Cerwyn and other people attending this site.
So long, Cerwyn, I'm sure you were a truly wonderful person, even if I never met you, you'll be sorely missed.

I'm one of those who rarely post here, but despite moving more into the airsoft direction, further away from modelguns, this forum has been a mainstay of the whole gun replica hobby - thanks to Cerwyn.

It says a lot about a person, when there's so much praise to be said about them as can be read here.
