| Post by ricks I've been wondering which smg models can be safely converted to use blanks and if it's even practical. Considering the tremendous prices that Schoessler's wants for blank-firing submachine guns, I would think the interest would be there somewhere.
(Edited thanks to the sage advice below.) _________________ Rick

| Post by 8ace Hi rick,
I think the general rule is that most modelguns dont have the strength to cope with blanks but i have seen some of the older MGC MP40s as blank firing.

| Post by Doc MGC MP40 (I have one)
Hudson Steel M3A1
CMC Sten MK II
MGC Sten MK III (possibly )
MGCUK MP38s (custom made jobs)
They really need to be steel although someone I know is bringing me an MGC 1928 that has been converted to 9mm ...although the reason he is bringing it to me is that its no longer very reliable and this could mean its self destructing .
General rule is it needs to be steel so it can be welded and strengthened

| Post by Mark As you live in the U.S. DON"T EVEN TRY IT. The ATFE can and will, consider it to be an attempt to manufacture a live un-registered machinegun. Visit http://www.ssroom.com/index.htm for information on what they went through to make a legal, ATFE approved, blank firing full auto. They had to do some "crazy" modifications to get it approved.. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still) MGC MP40 Marushin MP40 Nakata MP40 TRC MP40 Modelgun manufacturers, past and present:CMC,CAW,Hudson,HWS,LS,MGC(R.I.P. 1960's~2007) Marushin,Marui,Kokusai,Shoei,Tanaka and Western Arms | |

| Post by ricks Many thanks. As a holder of a Curio & Relic (Type 3) FFL, I value it & don't want to do anything to jeopardize it. I guess the megabuck route is the only way to go. Modelguns suddenly became even more appealing...
As a mea culpa I've edited my original post Thanks again... Illegal ain't fun _________________ Rick | |
