| Post by MadMike Does anyone know about Hudson releasing its AK-47 again? I read on modelguns-worldwide that brand new AKs will be available in March.
The latest SE version looked promising, but was only produced on a very limited scale and rather expensive ... _________________ "It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over." | |

| Post by Mark Fascinating news Markus! That would be surprising as the molds etc. that Hudson used for the AK model where "worn out" and, i thought that perhaps "Denix" had bought them from Hudson. I went to Hudson's site and they make no mention of the AK model beyond the announcement of its discontinuance. I would love to see brand new Hudson AK's....But only if they improved them even further than the even the "SE" version.
1. The barrel attachment point. Which is very weak on the original Hudson AK's
2. Full length cleaning rod.
3. Steel "gas tube" retaining latch assy. Easily broken, cast-zinc on the old guns.
4. Possibly a Chinese type 56 version would be cool as well.
I could see Hudson selling far more AK's if they improved their firing simulation and their details. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by shazhib I see from Hudson's site that they are going to re-produce few one with wooden stock and folding stock. Unfortunately, it seem this is mere re-production of old model, no improvement will been done...... | |

| Post by MadMike Thanks for this, Shazhib. Do they re-release the old version, or the newer SE-version? _________________ "It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over." | |

| Post by Claymore Thats a pity the AK is a model i would like but unless it fires well i dont see the point, i have yet to see a vid of the SE version firing a full mag and i kow from kickbacks efforts that the old version is a no hoper. you would think if you were re-releasing a model you would improve it, Hudson must of got feedback on how useless the AK was to fire. | |

| Post by jim With Hudson threatening collectors that they'd ceased the production of AK47 last time I think this time they'll be gone in seconds... Strangely with so many "experienced" modelgun gunsmiths in Japan they still cannot work out a way to fire the AK smoothly (even HUDSON)...I think it must be the "curse" In real world - the AK functions better than the M16 (even the US Army use it in various occasions). Just wondering - will their AK fire better if they make it in ABS plastic just like their M3A1 Grease Gun? | |

| Post by Mark Hudson did get the "SE" version somewhat right and it apparently did work..If they did a little more "tweaking" on the SE version it would work far better. Now, i think what Hudson is doing at this point, is simply using up their old AK parts supply and selling the guns as new models.
Which in fact, they are. I think that the SE versions sold out fast and that Hudson had already destroyed/sold the molds etc. for their AK, leaving just the old spare parts inventory.
If they had made the SE version available for a longer time as well as made some running changes to it's basic design; that the Hudson AK would be far better received by the modelgun collector community around the world. The SE version incorporated the missing internal parts that Hudson's designers left out.. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by MadMike modelguns-worldwide are now offering the Hudson limited 2008 last edition of the AK 47 and AK 47 S. Quite nice models, but they look like the older version, not the improved Hudson "SE" version ... _________________ "It's a hardball world, son. | Post by shazhib Madmike,
You are right again. It is old version.
Jim,
I know what you mean, but the orginal plan was done back in late 1970's. In those days, people were not expect to fire long metal guns, I assume Hudson did not draw a plan to make it fire well, rather, releasing a rare Russian/East European in their model line was more important. After that, getting in 80's, airsoft start sell more, it is no wonder Hudson did not make a decision to revised AK47 (til they release AK47SE). Again, it is matter of demand and supply, cost and profit issue.
