| Post by Jez_JRP DEN Trinity seems to be blowing them out really cheap, was wondering if it's worth bothering with them? A browning HP for $95 does seem awfully tempting, and it doesn't look as though there's that many parts.
Can they be assembled with bog-standard hand tools, or is there a lot of modification (dremmelling!) of parts required to make them fit and work? Surely it can't be MUCH worse than putting Airsoft AEG gearboxes together from scratch...

| Post by Claymore i dont think they are hard to build but i think they are hard to get working well. from what i can make out you need to spend time smootjing the parts and making sure they fit right as i think everyone who has built one has had trouble to get them firing well. But then i have never made one of these pistol kits, but at the price they sell for its worth giving it a go. | |

| Post by MT01 Yes - I agree that they are not difficult to build - but just require patience and a methodical approach, laying out each bit of kit. Avoid the temptation to dive straight in.
The last kit I built was a Silver Marushin Beretta CQB. Although the instuctions were in Japanese, the diagrams were easy to follow. The Kit needed just a little bit of sanding to stop the trigger extension arm catching under the hammer assembly as it returned back after being pulled, but it fires very well indeed. (Only gripe is the magazine catch is not as stiff as I would like, and the slide is a bit light)
I would also recommend taking the exploded kit diagram and then identifying all the springs and little metal pins by highlighting them with a coloured pen. Then match them on the diagram to what you think each spring and pin is that you have in the Kit. Reason for this is that the springs and little metal pins are of near identical size and its not easy to tell which one the diagram refers to. It would be a pain to assemble the wrong spring within the wrong part of the model!!

| Post by Spencerman I have to admit that I struggled with the Browning Hi Power, whether it was the wrong pin, or whether it just needed sanding I couldnt get the extractor pin in place. I am fairly familiar with this particular gun, as I have had a couple in my time as a shooter and collector, but the model got me. I plan to now cannibalise mine to make something else work that I am looking forward to, so I shall be wrecking my kit, but having said that, it would be well worth getting one. As has been mentioned, you will learn a lot from building one, and this may indeed help you out later. Not only that, but even if you dont get it working right, you will get a nice wall hanger at the end of it at least. _________________ | |
