That really sucks Quiet around here this morning... - Page 2 Icon_sad I can imagine how you feel, the german laws are pretty ridiculous when it comes to replica guns, too, but this VCR bill really takes the cake... Quiet around here this morning... - Page 2 Icon_sad

If I'm not mistaken, you have a similar paradox in the UK, as we have here in Germany: Non-firing or plasticrounds-firing replicas are strictly regulated or forbidden, while everyone over 18 years old can buy a crossbow online, that puts a bolt through someones head 70 yards away without even making a sound... I never really understood that Quiet around here this morning... - Page 2 Icon_confused

It's probably because nobody has shot a couple of kids with a crossbow as most of these laws are a reaction to some event with mass media/hysteria coverage. The killing of anybody is an horrific thing to happen, but knee jerk reactions to events (gun related or otherwise) is short-sighted..... but gets votes.

I wonder what level of knowledge a custom guy has for toy guns. Let's say you receive a modelgun from me in UK, custom calls you up. If you say:
"no, it is not replica, it is airsoft"

Then, does custom guy has reasonable ground to turn down your assersion?

Nowadays, some airsoft looks very realistic, especially, M16 clones with metal frame.

Hi shazhib

Unfortunately imports of Airsoft guns fall into the same category as they are Replica Imitation Firearms.

Only Retail Dealers can import them Quiet around here this morning... - Page 2 Icon_cry

I do not dislike the CP99. I think that for what it is it is a pretty reasonable replica. I like the magazine release, I like the slide pull to cock the gun. I like the frame release, very easy to operate and well thought out. I like the sights, and I also love the decocking lever. I dont like the barrel. I like that it is nice and fat, but would prefer that it was more like an airsoft, where the inner barrel is set back slightly from the dummy outer one. The reason for this is to do with silencers and other barrel attatchments that you may wish to, erm, attach. Here is why. If you want to put on a silencer then you have to screw in an adaptor (unless things have changed scince I used to have one) which protrudes from the barrel for the silencer or attatchment to screw onto, as opposed to into. The frame is more like the real thing with the rail, unlike the blank version or some of the bb guns. You can even count the bobbles on the grip and see how little it differs from the real thing. Now the CPSport on the other hand, dont even get me started on that one!

As for those Labor tosspots coming round to my door Doc, I could do without that for two reasons. One, I can do without more junk mail crap shoved through my letterbox, they will only want to charge me more to then take it away and recycle the useless piece of paper (unless you are out of bog roll). Second, I dont want to let my dog get fat.

Also, dont mention this to people about the whole whole airpistol loophole thing otherwise we will have an ammendment to the vcr bill next week!

As for you Shazhib, we are still allowed to by replacement parts! Quiet around here this morning... - Page 2 Icon_wink
