| Post by Mark Guy's as i didn't want to discuss this in the wrong area, it has come to my attention that Marushin has began producing a gas blowback mp40 that, possibly is made using modelgun molds etc.
Shazhib commented in the video section that Marushin might stop making the modelgun version of the mp40. I am not sure of this as Marushin has in the past made a spring cocking airsoft version of their mp40. It too, used modelgun parts in it's construction and if anything, it extended the run of the modelgun version due to Marushin's focus on the mp40. Whether or not Marushin makes new modelgun versions of the mp40 or not, it will be up to them.
I certainally hope that they continue to make the modelgun version or at least replacement parts! for this classic modelgun..... _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| I couldn't agree more Mark. Losing the ABS MP40 from Marushin's catalogue would be a crying shame as I'm sure it's one model gun that we all thought of and dreampt of owing and started our collections off.
The GBB version does use many of the PFC model's parts apparently but that makes sense doesn't it as all the externals will surely be from the same parts bins.
Internals will have to be different but exactly what apart from the magazine, bolt, and a machined barrel insert I don't know. Just how far would Marushin have to go to produce an Airsoft GBB version without sacrificing the classic PFC model?
Maybe you should gear up production again of your stainless Detonator chambers and bolts just in case!

| Post by Mark I certainally hope that Marushin is as flexible as i think they are. They have been excellent over the years and they rarely have failed to reproduce any of their old models (with the exception of their Uzi and their old cast zinc mp40 modelguns) I actually have one of their airsoft spring cocking mp40's in my mp40 collection, and it uses lot's of modelgun parts in its construction! _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by Claymore Yes i hope they will still continue to make the modelgun version, though i have made sure that i have loads of spare parts for mine just in case and i will buy more now as well. i am looking at getting the GBB model in the next few months (if i can) and will see if it does indeed use the some bodywork as the modelgun. I would also hope that it the GBB does use the same body then there would be no reason not to carry on making the modelgun version as i think it ios one of the most popular models and cheap to buy | |

| Post by ChenKenichi I do believe Marushin also had an external gas airsoft MP40 back in the early 90s in addtion to the spring MP40. I am not sure how popular this new blowback airsoft version will be. Many airsofters like electric guns as they are more reliable. Perhaps sales on these will not be as well as they hoped and go back to the model gun. My hopes for the future is that they rerelease the factory assembled version of the PFC MP40. I used to own 2 of them, however I sold them off over the years and though I wish to purchase a new one, I'm hesitant on putting the thing together from "kit" form. | |

| Post by Claymore get the kit it is easy to put together the only part you need to take time fitting is the insert for the barrel, some go in very easy some are hard but you need to get it seated right, that apart the rest of the model goes together easy and needs no tweaking | |

| Post by ricks Ditto here - it was my first kit & was nearly a "no-brainer" (which for some of us is ideal ) _________________ Rick | |

| Post by Johnny Hi MP40 fans, I got a Marushin Kit of the MP40 bought directly in Tokio. In 2008 I will retire and then hopefully be able to spend more time for the hobby. I plan to replace the ABS parts step by step with metal parts. I will begin with the Detonator. The parts will be made of Aluminum (lathed / milled) with a hard - anodized surface. The Pin of the Detonator will be made from V2A steel. I might also start a small series, if there is enough interest in the community. | |

| Hello Johny, Welcome to the forum. I'm sure you will find the forum very helpful and friendly as we all share a common interest in these model guns and in getting them firing as they should. I'm pretty sure there would be interest in obtaining metal replacement parts for Marushin's MP40 especially if the factory switch from PFC version manufacture to their new GBB Airsoft type. Please keep us all informed of your progress and ideas Cerwyn _________________ Hobby collector of mainly WW2 era uniforms, headgear, field equipment and replica weapons. | |

| Post by Jim Hi Johny - welcome For the GBB MP40 - I'm facing a dilemma as I don't know whether should I picked the "Matt Black" or the "Vintage 1945" version... While the Matt Black version looks relatively plastic (I've a Marushin ABS MP40 modelgun pre-built by shops) - I've already got my fair share of vintage MP40s as well (a MKK smg1979 zinc MP40 as well as the recently acquired MGC68 MP40). One thing I'm sure - after I abused the vintage MP40 I can resell it and saying when I got it they already looked like this... | |
