Very handy this one, thank you!
I have one of these older MGC Thompsons but it's been modified to use the newer c.p. rounds. I didn't get a manual with it so this copy showing the older reciever with the 2 socket cap screws on top is worth seeing.

Many thanks

I will try to do some A3 scans and post them here for you, i have just taken the old chamber out and there is no evidence of this gun ever being fired !!
Once the lathe/mill has been setup i can make a start on making the CP round chamber... oh, i forgot i need some CP rounds first. MGC Thompson M1921 Open Barrel Version Icon_redface

Hiya Phil

One thing to watch is that the chamber for the open cap rounds has a lug that slides into a slot or keyway in the barrel.
If, as mine did, you just drop a standard MGC CP det chamber in it'll fall out as the retaining screw ain't long enough to hold it.
The answer is (Thank God for this forum!) to get a big copper staple off a cardboard packing case, cut a strip to fit the keyway slot and use that as a big shim to lock the chamber in place.
There are photos on the forum somewhere showing all the details.
The MGC chambers aren't particularly cheap either so if you can make one easily you're onto a winner!
I'm not sure if the bolt might be slightly different too, maybe the lads can elaborate on that one?

One thing about CP chamber is, there is no hole in CP chamber to let the smoke out, if you want to use it, need to make a hole around a base of detonator. For the bolt, the shape of the bolt is fairly the same but an extractor is different. If you use current bolt with current extracer, you need to sand a little bit to lower a height.
