Gents,

Here is small post of MP40 HW version modelgun.

Marushin release MP40 HW version late 2008. Yes, famous MP40 in heavy weight material.
In a first glance, don't find something notable difference from ABS version. Maybe color is all black where ABS version has partial grey or more bold plastic black. Again, nothing change in appearance don't think Marushin made any change.

I expected it will weight more, but the difference in weight from ABS version is not that significant. Considering majority of weight of the gun came from lower receiver, changing a material of barrel or upper received may not add more weights.

From functional wise, it all same with ABS. Bolt moves smoothly, shoulder stock folds with no issue. Everything is the same.

Basically, all ABS parts now replaced by HW material even for bolt head and chamber. It makes me bit nervous to fire this model as HW is weaker against shock. I don't know if somebody wants to fire this. For myself, I may shoot, but not as much as I did like in ABS version. Rather, try to "blue" to have more realistic metal look.

It came with a box, but it is very simple bold cardboard box. No print, paint or photo.

Well, not much to comment since I assume most of you know about Marushin MP40, it is again, change of material only.

Below are some photo for your reference.

cheers,

Shaz

Thanks shazhib Exclamation

Superb photos as always. It almost seems a pity that buyers may be reluctant to fire this HW version due to the possible increased risk of breakages.
The abs model, when set up right, is a really good and reliable firing modelgun. Mine has had plenty of use and remains to be consistent and intact Very Happy

Makes me wonder if it could be worth fitting an abs bolt and detonator chamber to the HW version... could there be less chance of it breaking Question

I am glad that marushin are at least still making this model but the fact that it is HW does worry me because as we know HW is very very brittle and just does not cut it very well. i really wanted to add one of these to my collcetion but have had 2nd thoughts recently also it was mentioned somewhere else on the forum that it fires a lot quiter than the ABS version which is not good.
So yep nice looking model and interesting but not sure on how long parts will last and also with the exchange rate at the moment it makes it to pricey.
cheers for the review shaz

Very nice photos of a very nice gun.
Could someone please tell me the weight of the HW and the ABS for a comparison?

Cheers, Dan.
