I found the following advice how to assemble Marushin XM177 E2 or M16A1 kits properly. Sadly they are in Japanese only, but the pics might be useful.

Please admins, if this post is too big or not of general interest please feel free to remove it!

Thank you,

MadMike

Madmike, that is excellent where did you find it. Any extra info on building the marushins and getting them to work is worth posting on here.

Hello claymore!

I have to admit that I forgot where I found that. It was on an English speaking forum (Airsoft or real AR-15s) propably from the USA. I saved it on my computer right before Christmas 2004 when the plan of getting a Marushin XM 177 E2 was developing in my head. I tried to find the site again but failed.

Greetings

MadMike

Hah! I got it. It was a discussion on ClassicAirsoft.net about using the Marushin M16A1/XM177 E2 pfc gun metal bodies for Airsoft guns.

They also talked about converting it into a blank firing gun. Here is the link for everyone who is interested:

That's a cool set of instructions! Mostly, i see that they are suggesting that the parts need to be deburred properly for them to function correctly when firing it..I am suprised that they suggest the use of two caps in the cartridges(although, Marushin does suggest the same) i personally believe that is just a good way to destroy the brass and waste caps..If the Marushin M16/XM is set-up right, only one cap is needed...

Oh, by the way notice the extreme amount of smoke around the handguards?I see that they didn't have any intructions in the article dealing with the gas-bypass near the chamber..This removable cover needs to be sealed with either a gasget or silicone sealant or gasses escape from this gap and fill the handguards with smoke which of course, doesn't look right..

I am wondering if one of our users from Japan could help with a translation of these additional advice. That would be great.
