Umarex Walther P38 Full Metal Empty
PostSubject: Umarex Walther P38 Full Metal   Umarex Walther P38 Full Metal Icon_minitimeSun Sep 01, 2013 11:31 am

I can't comment on how it shoots cause I bought it as a Model Gun and have no intention to do anything with it but admiring it, pull the slide and pull the trigger from time to time.
The black paint is beautiful but comes off pretty easily. It would also match revolvers better than the Walther. I love it nonetheless.

Cons:
The packaging doesn't protect the gun as there's nothing but a small piece of bubble plastic to prevent it from moving in.
The moving slide doesn't slide as far as the real one.
The magazine doesn't look realistic.
The glossy black paint wears off pretty quickly.
There are missing details on the right side of the gun.

Pros:
It's all Metal it's heavy and looks serious.
The fake wood plastic grips are good enough to me although they should look like bakelite.
I like the black gloss paint a lot.
You can disassemble the gun (but don't ever disassemble the slide cause the spring would be a nightmare to re-fit)
The price is fair.

I love the replica as it is, and don't feel any urge to find anything more accurate one for now.

HI there

Really really good pictures - I wish I could do this good , do you have a special camera ? You seem to take real pride in showing the pieces at their very best .

I use the same digicam we use on our holidays Embarassed

Makes me want to buy this model but I have my next purchases already planned for months ahead , also Umarex have a new Beretta 84 full metal blowback metal bb which also looks the business .

My next review will probably be Glock 27 YT although I have a KJW Sig P226 coming soon also .

Thank you for the wonderful review !

Hey Thank Phobus!
I basically buy model guns to shoot them. I mean with a camera. Very Happy
Somehow the design matters much more to me than anything else. So yeah I'm working on getting the best pictures I can. Smile
My review is pretty empty cause I can't judge on the actual airsoft gun use. Embarassed But thanks nonetheless.

I've shared a bit about my photography process. It didn't change so much so you might want to take a look and give me your opinion about it.
https://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/t741-taking-better-photographs
My current camera is a Sony Nex-5n which is pretty much all I need in one camera without killing my budget.
Most cams have tones of features, and yours might have those I use.
All you need to pay attention on is: Depth of field - if you wanna have this sharp/blur thing on your pics. Set your cam on Aperture priority if you have such an option. (or manual mode but this needs a deeper work through the camera)
But if you want super sharp details on the whole pic, set your shutter speed to a longer value like 5 to 10 seconds.

Example:
Here with the cam set on Aperture priority with the smallest value of depth of field:

And here with a 8" speed to catch more details:

(sorry if my english fails for technical details)

What is your digicam model?
