MP40 parts interchangeability

Hello fellow Modelgun enthusiasts!

This is my first post and I already have a question.

I have got myself a MP40 modelgun. It is made out of steel and a few plastic parts, like the lower reciever and front sight hood.



The problem now is, that the front sight hood broke while transportation. Does an original MP40 sight hood fit?
This modelgun is probably made by Marushin, because it uses the Marushin 9.5mm MP40 shells and I can see a small "...in" at top of the reciever ring (where the upper goes into).

As you can see in the following picture, the lower reciever ring broke too.
Can I replace this part with an original one?
I'm from europe, so getting a full auto lower is totally legal for me!



I have a chance to buy one for cheap, so getting an answer as soon as possible would be very nice

Well your model is a little confusing as the lower receiver being plastic will be marushin but the upper looks like an MGC and if it is steel (not zinc) then its definitely a MGC, though the barrel nut is not MGC. So it looks like you have a bit of a hybrid there, for most of us we cannot tell you if a real lower will fit as it would be illegal as hell for us to own or try a real lower so its not been done. what i can say is dimensions on all these replicas were normally made slightly different to the real steel so that real parts would not fit for obvious reasons. However some things as sights the plastic stocks can fit though may take a bit of tweaking. Thats about as much as i can tell you on real parts fitting.

Definitely a Hybrid model gun.  The Marushin ABS MP40 lower receiver is notorious for cracking across the top ring where yours cracked.  This is most likely due to the stress of the metal  MGC68 being mated with the Marushin lower, I know I also broke one.  You may try some sort of glue to fix it from the under side, I am going to experiment with that and see what happens.  The front sight ring can be replaced with a metal airsoft MP40 sight ring made by SRC (Star Rainbow Company, LTD, Taiwan, starrainbow.com.tw) with a little fitting.  Do not use any AGM (China) MP40 Airsoft parts because they are to small for the MGC barrel.  SRC parts can be ordered from the following email: contact@starrainbow.com.tw, in the subject line put "parts for SR40".  The cost $7.85 (USD) plus shipping, they also take paypal.  SR40 manual in PDF can be downloaded from "AEG PRODUCT MANUALS DOWNLOAD" section on SRC web sight.  Check with your local laws for import of airsoft parts. I would not use any real MP40 parts, they are way to expensive and may also be illegal in your country.
