| .......and I thought you knew everything!  Yes, those holes are designed to vent the gas. As the bullet is fired and passes through the barrel, some of the gas is directed through the vent hole in the barrel and into the gas block and down the gas tube through the gas key on the bolt carrier. This is what causes the blowback of the bolt carrier group.  | |

| LOL Yea know all of that but just did not think how the now used gas was released from bolt during travel, obvious now after seeing it !! | |
