After purchasing my Japanese Type 100 model gun, I decided to make a late war version of the Type 100. A friend agreed to do the woodwork and I am doing the metal work. We are making it as accurate as we can, but are staying within the law, so mechanically it will probably be just for show. We plan on making a few. Duplicating the original stock with a wood similar to what was available to the Japanese during WWII is the challenging part. We decided on American Chestnut. Here is a picture of our progress with the Poplar wood pattern stock that will be used on the copy router to duplicate the stock in Chestnut.

It will get more complicated with the small parts. We are using modified Russian mags and going to simplify (as much as possible) the internals.

Not sure how precise the model will be.  Close to original or something a re-enact or could use??  I made a dummy gun years ago when a friend sold me an original stock.  When it was almost completed a guy made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.  He needed the stock for a live registered Type 100.  Here is a picture of it when it was about 80% completed.Model Gun Project 5d71f910
