Chrome 8" Barrel Magnum... PFC?

Can anyone please tell me if this gun is a PFC gun and if so are shells available.

Looking at the cylinder i would say yes, as for the cartridges i dont know, it looks like an old model pre '77?

Hi Rich,

I agree with Phil_D, It is a pfc firer ( i have one but without the hole in the barrel) these older Kokusai revolvers use the brass spring loaded cartridges were the cap sits in the nose,whether or not you will be able to find any of these now i'm not sure,but the newer style should also fit ok,Francky is the man to ask,and he also has them on his site.

Thanks for posting the pictures of it Richard! The fact that this is an "open" barrel is fascinating. I don't think that I have seen an example of a open barreled all zinc revolver like it. It looks to me that it might use the current Kokusai cartridges or something similar....Cool find!

Hmmm. I guess that it isn't an "open" barreled revolver after all. But still, it is a rare, early Kokusai. I have one of the late Kokusai S&W M29's and it is quite similar to your gun minus the chrome and the semi open barrel. It could be that your version of the older Kokusai is a "transitional" version that was made during the modelgun manufacturers self imposed regulations on modelguns (to prevent the Japanese government from closing down their industry) They might have cast it with a partial open barrel just like the MGC Thompson.
