Hmmm. I guess that it isn't an "open" barreled revolver after all. But still, it is a rare, early Kokusai. I have one of the late Kokusai S&W M29's and it is quite similar to your gun minus the chrome and the semi open barrel. It could be that your version of the older Kokusai is a "transitional" version that was made during the modelgun manufacturers self imposed regulations on modelguns (to prevent the Japanese government from closing down their industry) They might have cast it with a partial open barrel just like the MGC Thompson.
