Post by Garyforce Well .... ive already got a Hundson D-100 deringer .... but i had to get another
... so here is ...
THE HWS DOUBLE DERINGER
(pictured below)
Specs Length: 12 cms / 4.6/8" (muzzle to butt)
Barrel: 7.6 cm / 3" (open)
Weight: 210g (approx)
Materials: Shock resistant ABS & Zinc alloy.
Grip: Plastic (wood grips are available)
Comments The Deringer is a real fun gun
mainly because of its size ... but dont let that fool you...this little thing has a good weight to it (it is a heavyweight version)..... and is pretty solidly built ..... it also looks good
....and the real look carts that come with this are excellent
Loading Well .... first take 2 carts and unscrew the tops and place a 7mm cap face up and theres your carts primed
next... on the right hand side of the gun above the trigger theres a lever which you push around so it faces forward...this has unlocked the barrel wich you can now 'snap back'.
insert your carts into the barrels .... close the gun..and move the lever back into the locked position and your donw
Firing well pull the hammer back .... savour the moment .... and press the trigger
now .... the open barrel.... the 7mm caps .... they come together to make this a DAMN LOUD GUN !
There is no chance of jamming here ! … and if you do for some unfathomable reason have a misfire it wont spoil your day because just pull the hammer back again and press that trigger until your fire the next round.
if nothing happens ....well .... it could be that one of the caps is dud .... or (and this is much more likely) that the hammer has struck both rounds simulateously and set them off ....and thats why it was some damn loud
Again as I mentioned in my previos reviews I’ve really come to appreciate the MARUSHIN P.F.C caps over the M.G caps and now use these the most.
The effect these caps have on this modelgun is quite a spectacular muzzle flash from the rather small open barrel
Cleaning Well to clean the Deringer .... 'snap back' the barrel as previously described ... then press the small button on the left side of the barrel back towards you to free the carts ..... next using your prefered cleaning solution .... clean the carts .... and dip some cotton buds into it and scrub out the barrel. ...thats it
If you need to get to the trigger / hammer mechanism for cleaning or maintenance then first unscrew and remove the grip.... then remove the 2 screws on the front of the grip frame and a 'pin' that was hidden by the grip ....this will allow you to remove the trigger spring and hammer mechanism.
Extreme caution is recommended ! ...the mechanism here is tiny....extremely fiddley .... so as always if not refering to instructions make careful note of what bits going where
Over all Like i said at the start ...Deringer's are fun little guns
....theres no real point to them .... you either want one in your collection or you dont
if you do want one .... then this model is top of the line
.... the plastic grip is as always not great ...but if you can get hold of a wooden grip then thats problem solved
the real look carts for this model are superb
.... all in all... this is a really good modelgun ...if this type of thing 'floats your boat'
