weird looking gun but very different. i doubt they ever made a modelgun of it though.
The japanese laws on modelguns are as complicated as our firearms laws i think, trade in the older steel models is not allowed but take a look at the yahoo auctions and you will see them for sale so dont know how they get around that, but if Francky says he cant get it then he cant get it and there is not much he cant get if you are prepared to wait

Ok first of all, the Tanaka WZ63 isn't a modelgun... It is an Airsoft gun...

Two, the ban on all metal guns only relates to handguns. The banned guns include all zinc,brass,steel (or stamped steel) model handguns that are blued or have chrome finishes, the type that have removeable or detachable barrels and lastly, the type that don't have blocked barrels. Rifles,submachineguns and shotguns are much easier as they can be all metal and they can be blued chromed etc. However, they cannot be made out of steel (stamped or cast) or any high strength metal that isn't approved by the Japanes government for modelgun constrution.

...It is a shame that the WZ63 wasn't made as a modelgun. Although it is a truely strange looking firearm, it still is somewhat cool looking.

The original Polish WZ63 fires 9x18 Makorov from an open slide and the projection just below the barrel is the WZ's compensator. The stock assy is very fascinating as well as the folding fore grip assy. It is amazing that the somewhat obscure WZ63 was choosen for an airsoftgun..
