Drives you Nuts... Slides Open!!!

Ok I was watching the last part of "murphys law" last night ...I quite James nesbit in this as he`s a scruffy **** like me.
However at least three scenes in it really ticked me off .
With regards to poor weapon understanding ...

On two occasions actors were after the "bad guy" and were left with an empty gun (Glock) ..slide open and did naf all about it but kept pointing it as if it was of some use .

the last one was a real pearl ..."Murphy" distraught at the loss of a collegue in the line of duty was sat in his car , rain lashing down all teary like and he points his gun to his head ...not one but twice as if he was going to end it all ...only problem was the slide was fully open ...I had to actually question if he was crying because his college was dead or because he was out of ammo !!
My Mrs asked if it was some health or safety issue and I hope to god it wasent.

These people were supposed to be trained police officers too !!

just makes it all a bit rubbish when they get this sort of stuff wrong.

any other bad gaffs in film or TV lately ??

BTW for our overseas chums "Murphey`s law" is about a UK serious crimes (police) officer undercover and a bit of a rule breaker ...yes really

I saw that and thought the same! If I'm not mistaken, I'm sure 'Branco' was chasing 'Murphy' with an empty, locked open Beretta too!

there was also the problem that whenever 'murphy' pulled his glock there was always the apmlified sound of a hammer being cocked, which with a glock would be quite an achievement

yep I think I heard this when the bird was pointing it at the super too.

The "beeb" (BBC) price themselves on quality programe making too ...

I think it is quite common with those errors, slide locked back, firing 8 rounds with a 5 round revolver etc.
The Glock hammer cocking sound is really boring

Desperado although a great film has loads of boo boo's like that and you you just grind your teeth when th slide id fully back but they keep on pulling the trigger and get the hammer sound like a revolver

The Lost Evidence series screened on Sky recently although damn good mostly was ruined for me when they show reenacted battles and firefights where troops are

1) Pointing obvious mockups of MP40s especially, clearly carved from wood and painted black. No detail at all just a silly lump of wood.

2) Troops "shooting" by pointing the gun and shaking it vigorously like we did in primary school
MG42 being "fired" i.e. shaken about but the belt of ammo stays still...

3) Footage reversed so they're shown on the negative side...
Obvious when helmet decals (SS runes) are reversed, L/H MP40 and MP44 with ejection ports on the wrong side.

They do this all the time... ruins a good scene where reenactors have spent a fortune on kit then made to look like schoolboys in a playground.
