| I heard Hudson is considering to re-produce Sten. Currently, Hudson is contacting whole seller for their pre-orders. If the order won't reach 100, then, Hudson will rescind the plan....... | |

| smootik,
Hi,
Sten from Hudson is now in market. Unlike othe Hudson models, it fires good. I bought one for myself, firing well. But this is not "by-passed" chamber model so that smoke won't come out from a muzzle.
Now, Sten is planning sell limited edition with dummy silencer with loop stock. Sounds facinating but the price will go up to 70-80,000.

| Hmmm, pricewise it would be similar to non-silenced custom that MGCUK used to make.
I'm really glad to hear that model functions correctly, given Hudson "fame" with other models.

| True enough smootik but MGCUKs STEN is an all steel construction. £500 is an awful lot of money to pay for a modelgun but, steel models like MGC68 MP40s are almost always at least that sort of money and very often much higher. If Hudson sell this new STEN for that kind of price in Japan, by the time the International dealers buy them in and add their mark-up prices will be even higher. _________________ Cerwyn

| Cerwyn, Do you mean that Hudson is not made of steel but other metal?
My point was that both models seemed comparable in price, although adding VAT/customs Hudson will be probably more expensive.

| That MkII with the silencer is awesome.
Are you selling these, or exporting them, or just buying them Shaz?
Great ad as well.

| JJ,
If you or somebody are interested, I can source one for you. One thing, a silencer cover, small piece around the siliencer will not come with the gun.
Maybe this is a good buy for somebody who wants Sten in loop stock. It will require lot of work to fit real Sten stock to Hudson stock. You need to sand and fit, but that is not something you can do with Dremel or regular metal bar sander.

| JJ,
Not at all. I know what you mean, I am planning to buy FG42 early type from Shoei which is scheduled to be on sale early September. This is 120,000 before shipping, but again, this can be sourced if you are interested.
I think I will post some photo of FG when I get it.
regards,

My point was that both models seemed comparable in price, although adding VAT/customs Hudson will be probably more expensive. Japanese legislation stopped the use of steel for replica gun production during the late 1970sAny metal replica made since has been in Zinc Alloy or, in rarer instances, cast Aluminium. Without doubt Hudson's new STEN will be Zinc Alloy... if only it WERE made of Steel That's one reason why models like MGC's steel MP40 and Sterling command such high prices. As I recall, MGCUK stopped producing their all steel STEN to concentrate on their blank firing MP38. I'd be very interested to know how many pfc STENs MGCUK manufactured during their run. I'm sure I'm correct in thinking Hudson will be the only company producing new pfc STENs now so combine a limited production and exclusivity with customer demand, prices are going to be on the high side. We're feeling it all the more here in the UK I think because the value of the Pound has fallen so drastically compared to US$, Japanese Yen and the Euro over the last year. Everything's gone up in price anyway. The wrap-around heat shield over the silencer shown in shazhib's photo is often available on e-Bay from militaria outlets. SHAZ, I, for one, eagerly await to see photogaphs of your FG42 when it arrives, it'll be the closest I'll eve get to owning one

| Guys, Here is some updates on Hudson Sten with a supressor and loop stock. This is now on sale, JPY72,000. Don't know how many of people want to buy this. It is nice model, but bit too expensive I think. shaz | |
