CAW MP18 basic disassembly for cleaning

Note: somehow I managed to delete from computer pictures of this process :-/
I will take new pictures during the next disassembly, whenever it happens.
I decided to post text rather than wait.

Introduction

CAW MP18 disassembly mostly follows the process for a real gun. There are two main parts of disassembly: basic for cleaning (covered in this post), and advanced for major repairs.

Basic disassembly for cleaning
Use the following diagram for reference:


Process is not overly complicated. It sits somewhere between 1911 style (fast and easy) and Mauser Kar98k (total strip down required).

• remove magazine (#58).
  
• verify that there is no cartridge in the chamber.
  
• separate receiver from stock by unscrewing the main hinge (#26). KEEP BOTH parts of the model SUPPORTED on a surface, otherwise it is very likely that barrel will flip and fall down.
  
• remove small grub screw (not shown) on the bottom part of the barrel shroud, near mag well, then unscrew the whole barrel shroud (#1 + #15) by rotating it. Remove shroud to the front, taking care to not scratch/damage other parts.
  
• you should now see the barrel itself (#16). Carefully note its position relative to receiver - there are three screws (not shown here) so barrel could be in three different rotated positions. Put marks to make sure you screw it back in correct position - otherwise it will not line up correctly when you try to reassemble it.
  
• unscrew all three screws that hold the barrel, wiggle out the barrel from receiver.
  
• pull back bolt, move handle to safe position. This will make space for extracting the chamber through ejection port.
  
• note a hole that was previously hidden by the barrel. Chamber wall can be seen there now. Remove chamber by gently pushing it delicately with a wooden stick or a screwdriver through that hole, out and into receiver.

Now the cleaning time:

• clean the chamber thoroughly.
  
• clean insides of receiver through avialable openings in the receiver. You can oil parts slightly for conservation and a smoother operation (though it attracts dust).

Reassembly follows a reverse process:

• install chamber back in place. Insert it through ejection port then align and pushing it in delicately. If you can insert it in the same orientation (rotation) as originally, it helps.
  
• release bolt from safety to the frontmost position. Hold handle and do not allow bolt to slam forward.
  
• install barrel: align it in place making sure it ends up in the same orientation as it were originally. Replace three screws and screw the barrel to the receiver.
  
• install barrel shroud: screw it back onto the barrel, then replace grub screw next. If shroud ends up in a wrong position (too shallow) this means that barrel was not oriented correctly in the previous step.
  
• put together receiver and stock, align them and screw back the hinge screw.
  
• lock end of receiver to the stock. During process keep trigger in front position, otherwise it will interfere with trigger bar and prevent receiver from locking.
  
• verify that everything is held together as it should. Last thing you want is receiver falling to the floor.
  
• verify that bolt moves freely.
