The Kokusai S&W M19 .357 Magnum I bought recently developed a missfire problem very quickly.
Modelguns being what they are, problems can be expected after awhile Rolling Eyes as we know only too well but as this was a brand new modelgun, I was surprised to find firing problems occurring so soon. I'd only fired 6 or so full loads of 6 cartridges, the first 2 or 3 perfect, loud and crisp firing using Marushin caps, but from then on, the hammer failed to ignite caps more and more regularly.
Suspecting faulty caps, I swapped over to MG caps but found they wouldn't ignite at all  scratch .

John at PlugFireCapGunsUK, supplier of the model asked me to return it for a check-over. He found that Hammer spring tension was a little low so increased it accordingly.
That helped to some extent, but not completely. Further checking showed the hammer's firing pin to be a fraction short and it's spring rather weak.

John kindly made and fitted a custom Firing Pin as shown here:

1. Standard Pin (top) Custom Pin (bottom)

2. Custom Pin in place

A firmer spring was fitted between the hammer and Firing Pin too. As a result, the model fires perfectly now  cheers

My thanks to John for sorting my M19 very quickly, and free of charge too which is great considering modelguns don't have Warranties Exclamation

PS. I have a Full Metal Kokusai Colt SAA Peacemaker too but this M19 is the first revolver I've fired. I'm impressed, really good (loud) noise levels make up for the fact there's no Automatic action, no ejecting shells etc.
Cap choice gives differing types of muzzle flash. Marushin caps throw sparks from the muzzle but now the hammer is sorted MG caps have a really bright and distinct Yellow / white flame effect at the muzzle which is great to see.
A little Mg powder dropped into the cap during loading gives really impressive muzzle flash, bright flame that looks to shoot out about 6 inches or so from the muzzle  cheers Now I know whu modelgun Revolvers are so popular Wink
