| Hi Momo, "Evolution" was made after Tanaka received numerous complaints regarding the fragility of their ABS plastic barrel (i.e. cracks easily) and the metal rounds (O-rings fell out in certain shots as the design of the rounds are too tight which generate higher chamber pressure than expected) - it was said these "Evolution" models can now last longer ... At the moment Glock 17 & USP are made as "Evolution" models... | |

| Thanks to JohnnyV for the following information:
"The first new Evolution model (glock17) came out in early 2011, followed buy the USP around may 2011, latest G18 only came out earlier this month. (April 2012)
Guns are different to old ones (stronger) and carts were modified with the release of the glock17 as well:
The old range of "normal" G17, USP and G18 can use the new carts as they are the same externally.
It would seem to be a bit silly to use anything but the new carts now if the old carts were too powerful, the old G17's used to suffer a lot of top slide failures, maybe due to the old carts blowing back too hard??" _________________ Cerwyn

| Yeah, i can vouch for the top slide failure i have had the 17 for a number of years but never fired finally deceided to try it out last weekend got 10 rounds of then somehting happend to the trigger mech or the hammer really not sure what as all looks fine inside the gun but now there is no real trigger or hammer pressure so the gun wont fire, as i say nothing looks wrong inside the only thing to do now is try to strip the gun completly and see what might be at fault. | |

| Difference between the two verions of the cartridge shown below, old type at top, new EVOLUTION type at bottom. Difference is cross cut in end inner cylinder to allow gas to escape before piston exits bore, and piston redesign. | |
