(This guide applies to most CMC M1/M2 Carbines with slight differences in bolt operation and the trigger group locking pin.)
1. Remove magazine : depress mag release button & mag will drop free.
2. Open the bolt: pull slide back and lock in place with its detent pin.
3. Check the chamber is clear: ok it’s not a real gun, but good safety habits are worth while developing.
4. Remove the sling (if it has one): pop open the forward clasp& pull through. You don’t have to remove the rear
buckle unless you want to.
5. Loosen the barrel-band screw: the real one is a captive screw and won’t come out all the way. Your modelgun screw
may come out completely.
6. Now press in on the spring-loaded ban clip and pull the barrel band forward towards the fore-sight.
7. This releases the upper hand guard: pull the front of the hand guard up and then pull it up & out of the receiver.
8. Lift the barrel up and then pull it forward to release it from the recoil plate in the stock.
So far you should have achieved this:9. Next is the trigger housing pin: for the M2 first remove the “9” spring from the selector switch and then remove the
selector lever by sliding it towards the rear. Now the pin can be removed by pushing it through. Note for the M2: the
pin may be attached to the selector bar and can be removed as one unit. If not, remove the selector bar first. The M1 just has
the one pin to remove.
10. Next you can remove the trigger housing itself by sliding it back and off the rails. Note: in some models the ejector
will fall out round about now, as it is held in place by friction.
11. The recoil spring & guide is next: pull the guide back and the forward out of the receiver.
12. Now for the operating rod: first locate the indent in the slot by the charging handle. You want to slide the handle back
to this point and lift it upwards; now slide it forwards to allow the other end to slide off the rails.
13. The bolt can now be removed by gripping the lug and lifting up the front portion of the bolt, then turning it to the side
to free the back part portion.
Be aware that the ejector may spring loose as you move the bolt.
14. To clean the smoke chamber remove the two retaining screws located below the det
chamber. The det pin can be readily seen.
15. The det pin may be unscrewed using a short-handled screwdriver AFTER removing the small top screw on the
opposite side to the smoke chamber.
Reassemble in the reverse order, ensuring the both and operating rod function normally.
