Alright - time for me to get out and about getting some new stuff ...with intention to get the Marui .45 GBB I got another .45 full-metal modelgun beforehand...an older version Wa Shan from a non-online local toy shop!
Prey for the Day
Wa Shan first: last one from that model shop but brand new unwrapped (good price as well)...
Markings wise - believed to be the best of Wa Shan (without any non-Colt marking on the gun - so when I swap it with Colt grips it'll be perfect).
Shame there's rust under the barrel - will see what I can do about it...
Then...Marui's brand new MK IV Series 70 Gun-Blued Finish GBB pistol - let the pics tell the story:
Video already posted elsewhere but I'll post it here again for continuity...
Basically a very pleasing product by Marui (interested in their Springfield XDM .40 as well but I'll wait for the Taiwanese full marking metal slide copycat version instead )...but maybe in the end I'll buy the Marui with Korean Detonator's silver metal slide fitted - time will tell...
Of course - nothing's perfect: after taking pictures I take videos of me manual cycling of this Wa Shan...DISASTER (kind of)!
Putting frustration aside - I carefully examined the ejector rod...seems to be Wa Shan fitting the rod too high for proper ejections (or "copy fault" - this is obviously inspired by old MGC version by the look of the rounds)...
And the rim of the shell - RIP:
A very good non-firing replica - which means if you Guys plan to get this for firing fun: BETTER NOT (at the moment - wait till I get the silver version sometime somewhere...).
FINE

Replaced the Wa Shan plastic grips (Plastic?! Thought Wa Shan only made metal grips ) with the Marushin plastic ones (Marui ones won't fit - as it blocks the magazine release on the right)...will go out for the cheaper Carom wood grips with medallions this weekend...

Hello Jim,
Thanks for this different reviews. Shame for the Wa SHan, it's unfortunately quite often with Wa Shan guns. There is always a little thing which avoid to be a perfect firing replica : sometimes it's the mag, sometimes the ejector, etc... Anyway, with real colt grip, it's really better

Yeah Momocampo...shame to see the ejector "off-the-hook" with the round so easy with the slide only moves slightly backward (this will guarantee jam for every shot I believe - as I tried with my other shell-ejecting 1911s it won't happen like this)...also the silver version isn't available yet...!
But on the bright side - this seems to be the only Wa Shan model with Wa Shan logo on the grips only instead stamped on the gun itself...still a nice gun to cock and dry-fire though...
