| Hey all, I am thinking about buying some caps for my Tanaka, I'm just worried that I'll break them by firing! How big of a risk is their of failure? I have a G18, G17 and a Beretta M92. | |

| Hi. I don't think there's much risk of breaking model guns by firing caps since most of them are designed to fire caps anyway. The actual cap only contains about 0.01 gram of compound anyway. If you clean the model gun and cartridges after firing then chances are you'll be fine. | |

| I have a Tanaka USP.
It has had a broken slide x2, bolt, trigger, striker, extractor and barrel link.

| Not sure what you mean but point is that with late model Tanaka handguns all parts that come under stress are waiting to break as they consist of either plastic, plastic mixed with metal powder or monkey metal. | |

| It will break, slides barrels trigger all will break especially if you use the older tanaka rounds the new rounds are a bit gentler with the gun but all tanaka modelguns have a tendency to break i am afraid which is unfortunate as they are great when the they fire. | |

I only have Tanaka USP, but to be honest this is one of the modeguns that seem very fragile compared to MGC, Marushin and other makers. It fires very well though. After just about 40 shots barrel is aready damaged - check "Problems" section in my review: https://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/t2343-tanaka-hk-usp

| I had 2 tanakas and they both broke . I was using the solid standard brass type rounds in the gun and had no problems , but then i switched to the black plastic type rounds that had the brass collar and split in 2 half's , that's when they both broke . I had a tanaka 226 and u.s.p. Both in bits now | |

| Strange cartridge. Is the brass tube there to keep the two plastic parts together when it's fired? I'd imagine they are cheaper and easier to produce since there's no threaded portion and less metal. | |

| My Pleasure Guys ...if I remembered correctly these plastic rounds were only 1/4 the price of the current metal ones (i.e. price a bag of 30 plastic is 1/2 the price of a box of 15 metal)...but these rounds were more fragile than the gun so Tanaka dropped these eventually... Like to keep these plastic rounds because these looks like a German-made 9mm blanks (Plastikmanöverpatrone ) with "black bullet" (2nd from the right): | |

| That's the same blank round the British army uses, or did use in the past. | |
