| Last week my 1911 Kimar replica colt arrive with its centennial display board. It's a good dummy replica with working extractor - except there is NO chamber - even though the barrel is blocked. I'm a little disappointed as I was hoping to adapt it to a PFC style modelgun. Just posting for posterity! NOTE: In 1992 the Kimar factory was founded by the brothers Rino and Silvia Chiappa for the production of high quality blank pistols. Kiwigunner

| So it is not a blank firing gun? I have a Kimar model I got about 3 years ago, chrome with white pearl grips but it's a top venting replica (which I hate) but there were no front firing models available at the time. After alot of playing around with it, the barrel bushing got really dented due to the recoil spring plug putting all the pressure on it, since it does not have the rim that rests on the slide. I wish this replica had better internals, closer to the real steel. Many many ejection problems also due to the very small 8mm blanks which are clearly not made to be cycled in a 1911. How does this one not have a chamber? |

| Yes, this is a blank firer that has been turned into a dummy model, as these photos will show: I like the wood grips and authentic screws -and the rear sight is (r)moveable (I glued it with Superglue to stop it from falling out! For a wall hanger (which I wanted) is is reasonably good overall - and far better than a Denix - which in NZ was about the same price including the display frame (NZ$270). So I'm happy - but I may sand down the burrs and joins and maybe create a PFC chamber - if I get bored. At the moment I am finishing a long overdue project for Aussiguns and finishing my P08 Legr display box! Kiwigunner | |

| Hi, Externally, it's a beautiful replica. I guess that rezising the magasine well, to fit with a colt magazine, is almost impossible? | |

| I would be really surprised if you could manage to turn this into a PFC, don't know which cartridges you would use, would it achieve blowback, making a detonator pin etc...if this were a 9mm blank firer not converted to dummy, then I could see the potential. anyway, enjoy it! |

| Slide on that is much nicer than on the blank firing versions... wonder if we could swap the slides? But yeah, the Kimar blank fires in general aren't great - sear problems in lots of thems, they jam all the time, wear out, break... not made for heavy use. | |
