| I'm looking for the model that will fire blanks full auto.
I'd prefer the one which can change from Chicago style to WW2 style, or, if I can't find that, at least just the Chicago version.
If you know of any sites selling them, I'll take a look there too.
Thanks. | |

| Hi nobuddy, welcome to the forum MGC's 1921 Thompson can be easily set up as Chigago or Military style. The model fires re-useable cap-charged cartridges in both Semi and Full Auto. Check out the dedicated category on the forum's header page for Reviews, Photos and Videos.MGC Thompsons are available now at www.plugfirecapgunsuk.com and www.modelguncollector.co.ukIf you need any more information please don't hesitate to ask _________________ Cerwyn

| Thank you for the reply. I wasn't aware of those sites before looking. It's also good to know the 1921 can be easily converted. Do you know of any USA-located selling sites like the ones you shared with me? I don't want to have to worry about customs/expensive shipping.

| Just a clarification - you look for a blank-firer, or for a cap-firing modelgun?
NVM: read in title that it's MGC, so cap-firing one.

| I'm still learning, but this is the one I'm after.

Is this cap-firing?
Are there better alternatives to this particular model with of course the same functionality and appearance?
Is the Hudson a better option? I only see the military style on that one. Is it easily converted into the "Chicago" style?
The open barrel would definitely be preferred.

Yes, this is cap-firing, I corrected myself. MGC only manufactured cap-firing (or dummy) modelguns, so it's pretty clear what you want :-) Thompson model was made by several manufacturers, but MGC is the most popular one. It performs well, parts and accessories are available from various sources, I would venture out to say this should be the first choice if you are after firing performance. Hudson made a more realistic looking M1A1 variant, but it needs some tweaking to fire as reliably as MGC. This is probably a better choice for a person after the military look. You can find a list of Thompson models available and brief discussion here: https://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/t2722-thompson-history-and-choice-of-modelgunshttps://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/t312-best-thompsonCheck also other reviews posted by members, there is more on Thompsons too: https://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/t2134-list-of-reviewsIf you have specific questions, I have both MGC and Hudson and can take comparison pictures for you. This could be different than what you would buy, as there were several different variants along the way, such as open/closed barrel. Hope it helps!
