Put PFC cap on denix navy colt Empty
PostSubject: Put PFC cap on denix navy colt   Put PFC cap on denix navy colt Icon_minitimeWed Oct 30, 2013 9:48 pm

Hello, im new to the board and new to the whole thing with pfc caps and modelguns, but i have modded a few denix replicas before to fire small percussioncaps (that you use to ignite blackpowder weapons) and the like.

First the model im talkning about is the M1861 Navy civil war gun..

My question is, would it be possible (and not dangerous) to put only the PFC cap itself on the nippel of the colt (if you modify it to fit) and let the hammer "smash" the cap itself. Would that work, would that be dangerous in some way? Would you say a pfc cap is easier to go off than a percussion cap? would the effect be better than a red toy gun cap?

hope you guys understand what im after and sorry if I post in the wrong way or in bad english (im swedish)

peace

and i have seen the post of modifications of denix weapons but im not looking to put a whole bullet and the like in the barrel and make that work.. i want something easier to start with

(this whole project is for a theater/larp project)

Hi knaster

 Welcome to the Forum.
I've used 5mm PFC caps successfully on a Denix Colt myself without any modifications. The caps are a good snug fit over the nipples and make a good satisfying BANG when struck by the hammer.
I would think PFC caps would be much safer than Black Powder percussion caps
