| Hello leo, welcome to the Forum !
You have a really nice example of an early type cap firing cartridge MGC68 MP40. The Zinc bolt appears to be in excellent condition. There is no real sign of wear so your model may not have fired may cartridges at all. The Detonator Pin (photo # 23) is the original "old" type. Cartridges for this type are no longer available BUT new pins are available which can be fitted. The new pin will enable the model gun to use MGC P220 cartridges and 7mm caps without further modification.
Please note this is NOT a Blank Firing gun. Attempts to fire 9mm Blanks will very likely cause severe damage and probable serious injury to the user.
Correct type cartridges such as MGC P220 CP-HW and the correct caps will be perfectly safe and very enjoyable. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask _________________ Cerwyn

| Hello Cerwyn , thank you for the quick reply and the good news. Unfortunately I’ve found that the charger of my mgc68 mp40 is not original but it is a real mp40 disabled and unusable. Can you link me a European seller who has the compatible charger, the detonator pin and suitable cartdrigest MGC P220 CP-HW and the correct caps? It’s also ok an U.S.A seller that could be able to shipping to Italy.
Sorry for my bad english Leo55 | |

| Hi Leo,Your English is fine, don't worry about that Just to clarify, which part are you referring to as the Charger please? Are you referring to the Bolt assembly in photos #18 - #22?These photos appear to be the zinc bolt, with steel 2 part telescopic recoil tubes as fitted to the MGC68 MP40s. If so, it will operate perfectly in this model. Unlike real MP40s, the modelguns do not have a Firing Pin through the bolt. The handle used to pull the bolt back to cocked position is cast as one piece with the bolt. Unlike the real gun (and Marushin's model MP40) the handle does not move to operate as the Safety switch. There are three Dealers here in the UK that should be able to supply you with caps, cartridges and suitable Detonator Pins. Genuine MGC parts can be very difficult to find these days but these Dealers should be able to make or obtain new pattern items. Some parts can, occasionally, be available from other Forum members. It is always worth posting requests in our Buy / Sell category. Please let me know regarding the Charger ? _________________ Cerwyn

| Hi LeoNo problem An MGC MP40 magazine may be difficult to source but it is worth contacting the 3 dealers above. Some MGC MP40s will accept Vigneron magazines without any modification to the magazine well. Not all will, my own MGC68 '40 would require enlarging the well for example. How has your magazine been disabled please? _________________ Cerwyn

| I would just like to make a small comment if I may. I love the look of it in the first photo, and I would not do a thing to try to make it look newer. "Patina" seems to be the word used these days. | |
