I bought a German one made by Record from a member on this site.
It shot 8mm PAK blanks - and NEVER cycled -
(I tried all the different manufacturers of blank I could locate.)
It was a forward firing example, meaning the flash came out of the muzzle, but - as it never cycled after firing the first round, that didn't add much.
It does not look much like a real Luger, which typically have deep blued finish, and the silhouette is not quite correct - the Record looks more like a Lahti pistol.
The grips were too chunky and also poorly copied.
It was a lot of trouble importing the Luger as it was seized by SF customs coming in from Europe, and I had to go through quite a few hoops to have it returned, which basically led up to proving it was for use in a specific motion picture.
I would not recommend this.
You can buy a mismatched parts Luger for less than a grand, they can be blank adapted quite easily - this what we use now.
I did find several Record owners on line who had no problem with their Luger 8mm's -maybe I just got a bad one.
And a real one - all matching with capture papers matching mags and holster/tool.
