More details please.

Material in which thread should be cut/milled?

Length of thread?

Thread on a separate tube/rod that can be chucked up in lathe?

It would be great if you describe the mod you have in mind.

Kindest regards.
Jati

Yep Jati, valid point

it is an m4 upper reciever (made of lightweight metal)
so the part can be mounted in a lathe - but it is not that easy
next the part already have the diameter 32mm, over a length of app. 21mm

So my first thought was if someone had a handtool

Thank's for the details.

Sorry, but I can't help you. My lathe doesn't have enough spindle bore to chuck up a complete M4 upper.

Also I don't have a threading die in that size (32x1,5).

If you find someone with a suitable thread-cutting die, please don't forget to undercut the mentioned part (approx 0,3 mm down to 31,7 mm), otherwise you will get problems to cut the thread.

Kindest regards.
Jati

If your happy buying from China, Aliexpress have some righthand M32X1.5 dies for about £14 bounce

If it helps i've got a lot of stuff from various suppliers on Aliexpress and never had a problem.
