Well my first model guns (didn't know at the time) was some 30+years ago. I bought them in kit form from BEatties in Sheffield.

Not sure or remember the brand. No caps of course so tried using normal caps on rolls ... worked ... but wow ... ,y pocket .25 went into auto mode.

However, around Oct 04 found out about modelguns.co.uk and well it was christmas all year round as I have been buying them since.

My collection so far:

Trying to save for XM177 full metal ... may have to sell a couple to pay for it thpough .. tough choice.

It's almost the same story for me, I found the modelguns locally too but, the source dried up quickly so, i didn't get much of a chance to collect many until later. Nice modelgun collection! It is really a bad deal that you have to make a decision to sell one or two to get another! I have done that too many times to count now! I have been buying modelguns like they are going out of style and i have to stop for a while to let my account recover!

Yes me too, when I discovered a UK supplier I started to drooool at the mouth.

I spent hours on the web site just looking at the picture downloading them and the videos. It was Alddins Cave!!

Saved up a sum of dosh and bought most of the collection in one go.

Then started to search the web and in the last couple of days got this forum from rizzo as I advertised for model guns on arnies site thought why not although it is airsoft.

I used to have the real steel:

Browining Hi-Power 9mm
S&W Model 19 2.5" snub .44 Magnum
Colt Series 80 Gold Cup .45
Colt Diamondback Revolver .22
S&W Mod 60 .38 special
Walther PPK Urma .22

Sad to see them go but life is more important.

So airwsoft was next best thing then found model guns again too much to handle.

Pity about the VCRB although I do believe caps and cartridges would still be availble.

Anyway enough rambling on.

This was not the usual 'MGC68' stamp, just '68 and it was painted a dull green colour but with mottled brown furniture. Also included in the price were 22 solid brass dummy shells, a cheapo leather(?) sling and a spanner.
From then on I bought one every month, using the large broadsheet of guns that was put out by Sussex Armoury until I had every one on it. The 2 that I had the most problems getting were the Buntline Special and the .25 Beretta, both of which had to be 'special orders'.
When I'd finished with Sussex I went over to Repliguns who mainly dealt in Kokusai and Nakata models.
Then I went for the 1/6 scale Armodelli models and managed to get all of those plus the mounting boards.
After that I mainly got de-activates until I had over 300 around the place plus accessories, bullets, magazines and wood stock/holsters etc. etc.
I still have one or two left, the others were all sold to put my 6 children through University and weddings and grand children and so forth.
Now that they have all left home I'm getting back a few bits and bobs which is why this site interested me.

Welcome from another new member.

Funny I have just posted a reply in one of the threads about a company in UK that sold metal model guns. I thought it was Replica Guns but I think its the one you mention Repligun and Sussex Armoury.

Also, even more funny the only one I have left is the Beretta .25. I have 6 or 12 dummy cartridges and it ejects them when you press the trigger semi-auto.

It needs a bit of attention and I have in a box as no way of replacing. Had a few more but kids, nephews etc have taken toll on my others which have now 'faded' away.
