Hi everyone, I just recently got into modelguns/pfcs and airsofts mainly because they look great on camera. I'm a student filmmaker looking for the most authentic (at the same time on a student budget) to make short films.
I am looking for a shotgun preferably like the style of Marushin Mossberg M500 SSB 8mm Shorty or Maruzen M870 Grip Version. However, the Marushin doesn't eject shells (which is imporant), and the M870 Grip Version is no where to be found.
Firing realguns or blanks are out of the equation because of safety reasons. All other recommendations are welcome! Thanks!
*thanks to rizzo for introducing me to this site

Welcome HKFF!
It's interesting to me all of the shotgun questions that have appeared on these forums lately, as i didnt expect that the shotguns would get much attention. Modelgun versions of shotguns are fairly limited at this point as there where few manufacturers making them. Most of the shotguns that the modelgun manufacturers made where of sporting pump-action and break-open actions and only Hudson to my knowledge, has made any current shotguns. It's too bad that they never made a semiauto shotgun modelgun, it might have been too dificult to make but, it would have been cool!
Personally, i have had only one shotgun modelgun, a MGC RS31 pump with the folding stock/pistol grip. These modelgun shotguns are out there and are fairly expensive to buy depending on rarety and condition. I am sure that others on the forum will speak up and describe their choices on modelgun shotguns..

thanks for the reply. I'm guessing shotguns are hard to come by nowadays. Can't really find anything that utilizes shells in grip style.

I've been looking for everywhere for better deal on something like the M31 RS2 Law Enforcement Riot shotgun with Folding Metal stock. btw: You could always get the hudson mad max for at a better price from gunsnguys.com. It's about 250 USD Shipped! Cheers.

Yep they are not too bad, they take 2 x 5mm caps and are as loud as you would whant in a house, sometimes only 1 cap fires which is a bit strange but the make a good sound and even though it has a plastic barrel pumping the slide makes a good noise very convining.
Franky is again someone to contact on one of these he may be able to do a better price, he can get the carts which is great as no one seems to be able to get them over here.

Hi HKFF,
Welcome to the forum.
I too have the shotgun at M31 RS2 Law Enforcement Riot shotgun with Folding Metal stock and got it from modelguns.co.uk.
Good service and it is really cool not fired it just trying pumping it and it is fantastice. But one of my carts the silver end bit comes off and jams in the receiver. A bit of fiddling to get it out. Must look at superglueing the cap and body or something, but it is only on one cart the rest are ok.
Yes pricey but I think worth it has I got it suppleid with a cart holder (6rnd) which fit on the stock. Saving to get the 15 cart sling and 15 carts too.
Mind you if Francky can get them cheaper, must give him a try.

Is the M31 RS2 shotgun sturdy enough to reload it "Sarah Conner in Terminator 2"-style? I've ordered one but haven't got it yet.
Thanks for the tip about the Mad Max HKFF!

| *** Originally posted by mark ***Hi Gatling and welcome to the forums! As I used to have an MGC M31 RS2, it was a nice sturdy feeling modelgun that i believe might take quite a bit of abuse before breaking. But, i wouldn't think that it will last long under too much stress. They are a fun and suprisingly loud shotgun though..HKFF, Francky1958 is a forum member and he lives in Japan here his email: francky1957@yahoo.co.jp | |
